Saturday, Nov. 7, 2026: Grace in the Weakness
BIG IDEA
Even in the Valley, God Offers us a Greater Vision.
MEMORY VERSE
Psalm 23:2 “He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters.”
2 Corinthians 12:7-10
“So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited. Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
Paul knew what it was like to ask God to remove something painful. He called it a “thorn in the flesh,” and three times he pleaded with the Lord to take it away. God’s answer was not the answer Paul originally wanted. The thorn remained. But God gave Paul something greater than immediate relief: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” This is one of the hardest lessons of the valley. Sometimes God displays His presence not by removing the burden, but by giving sustaining grace beneath it. Paul did not pretend the weakness was easy. But he learned that weakness could become the very place where Christ’s power rested on him. The valley may expose your limits, but it also reveals God’s sufficiency. When you come to the end of your own strength, you are not at the end of hope. You are standing in the place where the strength of Christ can be seen most clearly.
Reflection:
What is one “thorn” in your life that you have asked God to remove? How might God be inviting you to experience His grace in the middle of it?
Practical Application:
Write down the phrase, “Your grace is sufficient for me,” and place it somewhere you will see it today. Each time you notice it, pause and surrender one specific weakness to Christ.

This really was a great reminder to fully rely on Him for our strength. He is bigger than anything we may face. Also, Until Grace is still one of my all time favorite songs.
