Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026: The Desert That Blooms

BIG IDEA
Even in the Valley, God Offers us a Greater Vision.

MEMORY VERSE
Psalm 23:2 “He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters.”

Isaiah 35:1-2
“The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad; the desert shall rejoice and blossom like the crocus; it shall blossom abundantly and rejoice with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, the majesty of Carmel and Sharon. They shall see the glory of the LORD, the majesty of our God.”

Isaiah spoke to a nation spiritually dry and distracted by the material world. They were not thinking about God. And yet God, through Isaiah, painted a picture of wilderness breaking into bloom. Deserts do not bloom on their own. Blooming in a desert requires an outside source of life. That is precisely the point. When your life feels barren—when spiritual dryness has settled in, and joy has gone quiet—you are not being called to manufacture your own revival. You are being invited to receive what only God can provide.
The glory of God is most clearly seen not in the places already lush and thriving, but in the places where nothing should be growing at all. Your desert is not evidence that God has forgotten you. It may be the very canvas on which He chooses to display His greatest work.

Reflection:
In what area of your life do you feel the most spiritually dry right now? Have you invited God into that specific place?

Practical Application:
Spend five minutes in silence today, surrendering the driest area of your life to God and asking Him to do what only He can do in that space.
