Oct. 2, 2026: Overcoming by the Blood and the Word

Big Idea: To live a SENT life, you must know the enemy, know yourself, and depend on God.

Memory Verse for the Week:
1 Peter 5:8 Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”

Revelation 12:9-11
“And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God. And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.”

Satan is identified as the deceiver of the whole world who has been thrown down, and believers overcome him through the blood of the Lamb, the word of their testimony, and a willingness to lay down their lives. Romans 8:37-39 -- Believers are declared to be more than conquerors through Christ, and nothing in all of creation is able to separate them from the love of God.

The story does not end with the enemy winning. It never did. Revelation 12:11 gives us the threefold strategy of the overcoming believer: the blood of the Lamb, the word of their testimony, and a life surrendered fully to God. The blood of Jesus is not a symbol. It is the most powerful force in the universe. It has already purchased your forgiveness, your freedom, and your future. Your testimony is not just a story you tell. It is a weapon you wield. When you speak of what God has done in your life, you are declaring the defeat of the enemy in real time. You were not called to survive the sent life. You were called to overcome it. That overcoming is not earned by your effort. You receive it through your dependence on the One who has already won.

Reflection:
When was the last time you shared your testimony with someone? How does the certainty of Satan's ultimate defeat change the way you approach your daily spiritual battles?

Practical Application:
This week, find one person with whom you can share a specific way God has worked in your life. Your testimony is not just personal encouragement. It is a declaration of victory over the enemy and an invitation for others to experience the same God who rescued you.
