Sept. 7, 2026: When Everything Changes, God Remains

This week’s BIG IDEA:   7 truths we need to be SENT and not STUCK.  Death is certain. God is in charge. He is holy. We are broken. God offers grace. God speaks. God sends.  

Isaiah 6:1-2
“In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him stood the seraphim. Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.”

Psalm 25:15
“My eyes are ever toward the Lord, for he will pluck my feet out of the net.”

King Uzziah had reigned for 52 years. He was the constant, the familiar, the one everyone could agree on. Then he was gone. Into that grief and uncertainty, Isaiah saw the Lord seated on the throne, high and lifted up. The throne of heaven was not empty. It was never empty.

Every season of loss you have walked through, every year that felt like the ground shifted beneath you, God was still reigning. Psalm 25:15 reminds us that when our feet are caught in a net, our eyes belong on the Lord. Fix your eyes upward today. The throne is occupied.  

Are you unsure of the future?  The throne is occupied. Have you just heard troubling news? The throne is occupied.  God is in charge.  Always has been in charge. Always will be in charge.  

Personal Reflection:
What change or loss in your life has made you feel most uncertain? How does knowing God is permanently on the throne reshape how you face that season?

Practical Application:
Write down one area of your life where you have been operating out of anxiety or fear of change. Beside it, write the words "God is in charge." Return to that statement three times today as an act of deliberate trust.
