Aug. 30, 2026: MORE THAN YOU CAN IMAGINE
BIG IDEA: God doesn't just call you FORWARD; He gives you the POWER to follow Him.
Reading:
Ephesians 3:16-20
“That according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being... that you may... know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us.”
Devotional:
Following Jesus isn't something we're expected to accomplish through willpower alone. Paul prays that believers would be strengthened with power through God's Spirit in their inner being.
God doesn't merely point toward freedom and tell us to figure out how to get there. He strengthens us for the journey.
And notice where the journey ultimately leads: deeper into Christ. Deeper into His love. Deeper into His fullness. The greatest thing God has for you isn't simply better circumstances. It's more of Him.
Then Paul reminds us that God is able to do “far more abundantly than all that we ask or think.”
You may not be able to imagine what your life could look like as you continue following Jesus. That's okay. You don't have to see the whole journey. You just have to trust the One leading you.
Reflection:
What might change if you truly believed God could do more in your life than you can currently imagine?
Practical Application:
Pray Ephesians 3:16-20 over yourself today. Ask God to strengthen you through His Spirit, help you know Christ more deeply, and give you faith to follow wherever He leads.
